Subliminal Inspiration.

Ages ago, I read a magazine article about LL Cool J's house. He and his wife believe in the subliminal power of the written word, so they had inspirational quotes made into art posters and hung them all over the house for the benefit of their teenage children. This has always stayed in the back of my mind, and fueled by Pinterest and it's enormous library of quotes, I've decided to install some inspiration in the BC family home. These are going in the hallway outside the children's rooms. They will have no choice in these subliminal messages, and will be inspired weather they like it or not, goddamn it!

To be fair, that Cowbell one is for me. Words to live by, man.

What quotes do you think your children would benefit from?

Linking to IBOT today. And not in the comments!! :)

  2. Haha Cowbell! This is BRILLIANT! I love this idea, who knew LL was so Coo - oh wait...nevermind :P Great idea and LOVE that you are implementing it. Maybe I'll do it on a small scale in my bedroom? Something along the lines of 'Damn you a sexy bitch!' ... I'll work on that

    1. I was surprised at the cool factor of Mr LL and his wife as well! Guess that proves the power of the written word?
I really want to turn 'Get Shit Done' into an artwork, but I'm trying so hard to stop the children from swearing. *sigh*

  3. Lol, I must admit the very first quotes that popped in to my mind were "Keep Your Room Clean", followed quickly by "Don't be a Smart Mouth" and "Be Good to Your Mum".

    #teamIBOT was here!

    1. I can think of several of those sayings! I'm not sure they would even work on a subliminal level.

  4. Oh I just LOVE these! I too am a great lover of inspirational words displayed around the home. You've already put up my favourite "This too shall pass". Did you know there's a story behind it? It's a good one. I'm also taking the cowbells. Such a winner!

    1. I didn't know the story behind 'This too shall pass', off to Google it now! We could all do with a little more cowbell in our lives I think :)

  5. It's funny in my youth I was all for motivational sayings but somehow they seem to have slipped off my radar, thinking I might have to do something about that.

    1. Yes, more Cowbell for you young lady! I didn't like them when they became so popular, but now the trend is a bit stale I kind of like them. I'm a bit contrary like that.
